At Smile Culture Dental, we offer same-day appointments at our office in Huntingdon Valley. Getting professional care as soon as possible for a dental emergency is absolutely essential for your oral health. The sooner you get treatment, the better the outcome will be for your dental health.
Some oral injuries, like a knocked-out tooth, must be treated within 1-2 hours of the injury in order to save your tooth. If you have a dental emergency in the greater Philadelphia area, come to our office as soon as you can to get the treatment you need. Call us now at (215) 330-2283 for more information.
As a general rule, we consider a dental emergency to be any dental issue that is causing you pain, bleeding or discomfort, that you cannot treat on your own. This means that in addition to more obvious oral injuries, like a loose or knocked out tooth, issues such as persistent toothaches are considered dental emergencies as well. If you think you need emergency care, don’t hesitate to call or stop by. The sooner you get help, the better the outcome will be for your dental health.
- If your tooth has been knocked out, call our Huntingdon location right away at (215) 330-2283 to let us know that you’re coming. Your missing tooth must be replaced and splinted within 1-2 hours in order to save it.
- Next, recover your missing tooth and rinse it with warm water. Then, replace it in the socket, if possible, or put it into a container of cold milk. (This will keep the tooth alive until you get to our office.)
- If you are bleeding, you can use clean gauze or cotton balls to absorb blood. For pain and discomfort, take an NSAID like ibuprofen (Motrin) or naproxen (Aleve). Applying an ice pack to the outside of your mouth can also help reduce swelling and pain. Above all, make sure you come to our office as soon as possible in order to save your knocked-out tooth.
Yes! A serious toothache that won’t go away is often a sign of an infected tooth. If you do not get care for an infected tooth as soon as possible, your condition will only get worse. If your tooth is infected, we offer emergency root canal therapy to remove damaged tooth material, get you out of pain, and restore your smile. If you’re experiencing persistent oral pain, contact us today to set up a same-day appointment!
