Porcelain veneers are a cosmetic treatment designed to cover up imperfections including gaps, misshapen or chipped teeth, and severe stains that cannot be removed with traditional whitening techniques.

Each veneer is a small, thin, tooth-shaped piece of porcelain that fits around your tooth and replaces the front chewing surface. By using a set of multiple veneers, you can easily correct almost any cosmetic imperfection to get the bright, beautiful smile you deserve.

Cosmetic crowns are typically recommended to restore teeth that have been damaged by decay or an oral injury. Crowns surround and cover up the entire tooth to strengthen its structure and improve its appearance.

Dental bridges are also an option for patients who have lost one or multiple teeth. Bridges consist of two crowns attached to healthy teeth, which suspend a false tooth (also called a pontic) in the gap where your missing tooth used to be.

KOR Teeth Whitening is a powerful, professional-grade whitening system that uses peroxide agents to bleach away stains from your teeth and restore your smile. We offer in-office whitening services for patients looking for rapid results in just one appointment, as well as custom take-home kits that offer more subtle, gradual results. If you’re interested in a brighter smile and a quick confidence boost, ask about KOR whitening today!

Dental bonding is a cosmetic treatment that uses tooth-colored dental resin to reshape your teeth and correct minor cosmetic flaws. This non-invasive, efficient cosmetic option can address most cosmetic issues including chips, stains, gaps, misshapen teeth, and slightly-crooked teeth.

During treatment, tooth-colored dental resin is applied to your teeth, then molded into a natural shape to improve the appearance of your smile. Shaping and contouring is often used alongside dental bonding to remove small amounts of enamel from surrounding teeth for a seamless, uniform look.

We offer both Botox and Juvederm fillers at Smile Culture Dental to give every aspect of your smile the treatment it deserves. Botox can be used to smooth wrinkles in your skin, and it is also often used to treat “gummy smiles” because it can keep muscles from curling upwards and exposing your gum line. Botox can also be used to treat painful migraines and to relieve some of the symptoms of TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder).

Juvederm fillers are used to restore the natural, youthful appearance of your face and are most commonly used in the cheeks and lips. Fillers add volume to specific parts of the face and lips, creating an ideal frame for your smile. It's a simple way to enhance your natural beauty without cosmetic surgery.

What To Expect At Your Cosmetic Dentistry Appointment

Oral exam and honest smile discussion

To begin your appointment, your cosmetic dentist will perform a comprehensive oral exam, complete with x-rays if necessary. An oral exam is important before you begin cosmetic treatment, since any oral health problems must be resolved before you can start improving your smile.

Understanding your treatment options

There are many different ways to enhance your smile. Together, you and your dentist will discuss cosmetic dentistry treatments such as teeth whitening, dental bonding, veneers, Invisalign, and more. Then, your dentist can come up with a plan that matches your preferences, meets your budget, fits into your schedule, and addresses the specific challenges facing your teeth.

Finalizing your cosmetic dentistry plan

Once you’ve received your personalized treatment plan, it’s time to commit and begin working toward a brighter smile. You’ll meet with one of the front office team members at Smile Culture to discuss payment plans, and to begin scheduling your cosmetic treatments. We make it easy to fit cosmetic dentistry into your budget, and into your busy schedule, too!

Frequently Asked Questions About Cosmetic Dentistry

Why Is Cosmetic Dentistry Important?
plus icon

Cosmetic dentistry is important because cosmetic flaws with your teeth, however minor, can make you feel embarrassed and self-conscious. Whether you’ve got some tooth stains, a big gap between your front teeth, or some minor chips or uneven teeth, you may not feel comfortable when you smile, laugh, speak, or even eat around other people.

This is exactly what cosmetic dentistry from Dr. Harshil Boghara and the team at Smile Culture Dental is meant to address. We work closely with each patient to develop a customized smile makeover plan, and cover up the flaws that make you feel self-conscious about your teeth.

With our team on your side, you’ll be able to smile proudly once again. Cosmetic dentistry enhances your smile, boosts your self-confidence, and can even make you look younger. So don’t wait. Contact us for a consultation to learn more, and you’ll never have to hide your teeth again.

Am I A Good Candidate for Cosmetic Dentistry?

As long as your mouth is healthy, the answer is usually “yes!” There are lots of different cosmetic dentistry treatments available, so there’s an option for everyone, no matter your budget or preferences.

However, you will not qualify for cosmetic dentistry if you have serious, untreated oral health issues. For example, if you have active gum disease, cavities, or an infected tooth, these problems will need to be treated and resolved before you can get cosmetic treatment. Because it’s not meant to treat oral health issues, cosmetic dentistry can only be done on healthy teeth.

This applies to orthodontics, too. You may need Invisalign as part of your cosmetic dentistry plan, or even braces if you have more severe problems with the alignment of your teeth and your jaws. For more information, you can consult with your dentist during your cosmetic consultation at Smile Culture Dental.

How long do veneers last?

We consider veneers a long-term solution, but they are not permanent. In the industry, 10 years is considered a successful veneer lifespan, but they can be worn for 20 or 30 years. It is possible for veneers to chip or wear down like a natural tooth. The color of a veneer never fades however the tooth can discolor over time, and as gums will shrink they may not look as age appropriate. Patients may return to replace them for a more refreshed look. It is important to note, veneers will last longer if they are taken care of properly with the recommended dental hygiene and minimal teeth grinding.

Does Cosmetic Dentistry Last Forever?
plus icon

No. Technically, no dental treatment lasts forever. However, your new smile is meant to go the distance, and keep you looking and feeling great for as long as possible. Teeth whitening usually lasts 1-2 years, but routine touch-ups can keep your smile bright indefinitely.

Dental bonding, another common treatment, has a lifespan of between 5-10 years before you may need the treatment to be redone. And porcelain veneers last even longer, usually between 10-20 years with proper care. That last part is important, too. Taking good care of your teeth helps keep them healthy, and prolongs the lifespan of your cosmetic results, too!

How Should I Care For My New Smile?
plus icon

For the most part, the steps you’ll take to care for your teeth won’t change. Make sure you brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, floss once per day, and eat a “tooth-healthy” diet that’s low in sugary, acidic foods and drinks. If applicable, quitting smoking, vaping, or other types of oral tobacco use will also help preserve your new smile.

However, you’ll also want to follow some other precautions. For example, if you have dental bonding or veneers, you’ll want to avoid chewing on really hard foods like ice or popcorn kernels. You also should not bite into non-food objects like pens, pencils or fingernails, or use your teeth to open packages or tear tape. This could damage your dental work.

You’ll also want to see your dentist at Smile Culture Dental twice a year for a six-month teeth cleaning and oral exam. During this time, your dentist can make sure that your natural teeth are healthy, and that cosmetic treatments like veneers are in good shape. Don’t skip your checkups! Preventive dental care is essential for preserving your new smile.

Does Dental Insurance Cover Cosmetic Dentistry?
plus icon

No. Because it’s not considered to be essential for your oral health, cosmetic dentistry is not typically covered by dental insurance. At Smile Culture Dentistry, we understand that cost can be a barrier to getting the cosmetic care you need. That’s why we offer financing to help split the cost of treatment into low monthly payments.

We also offer our in- LifeSmile treatment plan for patients who don’t have dental insurance. This plan covers the cost of routine preventive care at Smile Culture Dental, and also provides a 40% discount on all other treatments, including cosmetic dentistry. For more information and to see if the LifeSmile plan is right for you, just ask your dentist or one of our other team members for details during your appointment at Smile Culture Dental.
